22-23 JULY 2017 – Italy

201702_RDTT_LOGOS-01

The event represents a unique opportunity to experience the thrill of racing on the highest active volcano in Europe UNESCO World Heritage Site.
From here the landscape becomes lunar! Rocks and volcanic sand will make increasingly tough the ascent. But the prize for so much effort will be to run along the Valle del Bove. Hard to describe the beauty of this landscape that will put the competitors in front of the power of this volcano: sheer cliffs, black lava that make lunar the landscape and if you turn your head to the sea 2000 meters down. So much beauty will give the strength to overcome this beautiful trail that is Etna Trail.

“Running the Etna Trail is like breathing to the rhythm of exuberant nature.”

“Etna Trail is a fusion of the many facets of Etna. At 3330m it is both the highest mountain in Central and Southern Italy and one of the most active volcanoes in the World, as well as being a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Running the Etna Trail is like breathing to the rhythm of exuberant nature, constantly adapting and changing its appearance, following what the volcano dictates.”

“The Etna Trail is the perfect combination of competition and discovery on the highest mountain in the region.”

“Fascinated by the charm of wonderful Sicily, Etna Trail is the perfect combination of competition and discovery on the highest mountain in the region. On this Trail you reach 3000m altitude, the summit is only 300 meters above you. This mountain is the perfect example of a volcano: always active, wherever you look, you see how everything is shaped by it. This trail then becomes a race in the desert between the black stones, the sand and the rocks that disintegrate your shoes.”
